Sexual Health Support for Young People

SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Streetwise ONTHEGO! Contraception and Sexual Health Services (CASH) provide a wide range of confidential information, advice and support on healthy relationships, decision making, consent, rights, contraception, sexually transmitted infections testing, pregnancy, as well as a range of other sexual health services.  These services include; ‘On the Go’ – which is a bookable service bringing support to your doorstep; Outreach – which offers 121 and group support sessions in colleges, schools, community venues and universities; Tailored Outreach Sessions – which provide tailored sessions around issues affecting different groups, such as LGBTQ+ communities and those with additional needs.

Young People aged 13-24 years

SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Please see information on the NHS Harian House Clinic drop in. Young people aged 13 – 24 years are seen on a first come – first served basis. Sometimes depending on how many young people call into the drop-in the waiting times can vary from 5 minutes to an hour. Nurse led services (Chlamydia/ Gonorrhoea tests, implant fitting, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception (Plan B), Contraceptive pill/ Injection/ Patch, support with sexual assault and full STI Screening kit to take home) are available at the services in Byker Sands, alongside information, advice and guidance via trained project workers. STI & Chlamydia Screening

Our service also offers free condoms and sexual health information to young people under the age of 25 years. Once a young person has had a conversation with one of our workers and is signed up for a C-Card, they can access free condoms from over 57 different outlets across the City. All you will be asked for is your age and postcode and this information will remain confidential. STI testing for young women (Chlamydia/ Gonnorhoea) is available at Byker Sands Family Centre on Mondays 3.30 – 5.30pm. Full STI home testing kits re also available.

Free emergency contraception is available at Streetwise drop in at Byker Sands on Mondays 3.30pm – 5.30pm You can also access a ‘Plan B’ pharmacist near you for free Emergency Contraception:
